It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here :p I normally don’t do collaborations with brands, but I decided to collaborate with JORD (pronounced Yode), a wooden watch company based out of St. Louis, Missouri. I’ve always been a fan of watches, ever since I was a little girl. They’re beautiful timepieces and can be worn for any occasion. The reason I like JORD, is because they focus on using a mix of natural and reclaimed materials, such as wood and leather. The prices are also very reasonable for the exceptional quality.
I remember reading an article from earlier this year, about how children are slowly forgetting how to read time, because almost everything is digital. That made me sad, but analog watches are still being worn, and can give us a sense of going back in time. To me, they look more elegant and sophisticated, with or without the numbers.
So, I am hosting a $100 Giveaway with them, so please read until the end for details!
I was able to pick out a watch for someone special. This would make a great gift for the holidays, Valentine’s Day, an anniversary, graduation or even a birthday gift! I do plan to give this one to my partner, Adam for the holidays 🙂 I’m sure he’ll love it.
This is the watch I chose for him, the Conway in Walnut & Jet Black
I love how you can customize the sizing of the watch, because that’s usually an issue for me, since I have very small wrists. Of course, I had to find a way to measure Adams wrist without him knowing why 😉
First of all, it comes in this magnificent all cedar humidor box. I mean… this box is beautiful in itself. It even has a little drawer at the bottom to store accessories. It comes with a thin cloth, fiber cloth, wood finishing oil, and extra pieces for the watch.
The wood of this watch is made of walnut, one of my favourite types of wood. It’s durable, with a beautiful texture and colouring, as you can see in the photos. There is definitely a bit of weight to this watch. I love how it shows the day of the month, so you don’t have to pull out your phone or check a calendar. There is a lot of detail that goes into each watch, as you can see on the crown, there is an etched letter J! I love small details like this, making the piece even more beautiful. The watch is also water resistant up to 3 meters and it even has a date of when the watch was made on the back of the watch. I took the photos against a piece of birch :p I love the intermingling of different wood textures.
If you’re not familiar with the different styles of watches, this is a chronograph, analog watch. It allows you to track the seconds, minutes and hours through the 3 small dials on the face of the watch. You can essentially use it as a stopwatch for up to 12 hours. It comes with a small instruction booklet, so do not fret! It is very easy to use, as long as you follow the instructions. I had to figure out how to open the link of the watch though, which didn’t take me long. You just had to pinch the sides to release the clasp.
Most of the watches can be further customized, by mixing and matching different faces and woods. They also offer a one year warranty, options for returns and exchanges, and free worldwide standard shipping.
I would recommend purchasing an item as soon as you see something you like, because they do sell out quickly 😦 I’ve seen styles on there I loved, but they no longer carry. I think that’s also a good thing because all the pieces are unique. Every piece of wood and leather will have slight variations, which makes it more special.
